Visitors to downtown Greensboro will be greeted by the smell of freshly fried funnel cakes this Saturday morning, as Southland Jubilee officially takes over the streets from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

People from all over have gathered in Greensboro since 1998 to participate in a fun, family-friendly event that has developed a reputation across the region as a quality heritage arts festival unlike any of its kind.

Along with exposing visitors to the charm of Greensboro and providing attendees with a full day of fun, Southland Jubilee is known for bringing the entire community together.

There will be a variety of new and returning vendors throughout the streets of downtown Greensboro, along with a big automotive blast from the past, as South Main Street will be lined with classic cruisers and muscle cars in the Classic Car Show put on each year by the Georgia Classic Cruisers (GCC).

Visitors can talk to the people who own the cars, take tons of pictures, and ask GCC members any questions they may have regarding classic cars.

You can find all kinds of cars from the 1950s, ‘60s, and ‘70s, that have been restored or remodeled, such as Camaros, Corvettes, Mustangs, and Chargers. For more information about the GCC car show, visit online at georgiaclassiccruisers.com.

In addition, guests can visit many handmade arts-and-crafts vendors onsite, and younger attendees will enjoy a fun time in the Children’s Area, which will include a spider jump, trackless train rides, pickleball, face painting, games, and more.

Also, many historic Greensboro churches will open their sanctuaries to visitors for tours, such as First Presbyterian Church, First Methodist Church Greensboro-Lake Oconee, First Baptist Church, and Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. Also, visit the Greene County History Museum and the African American Museum during the Jubilee to see their displays.

The Greene County Ag Area, sponsored by Farm Bureau and 4-H, will allow guests to interact with farm animals from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. And stop by their bake sale for some delicious treats made by local 4-H students.

And come to the Southland Jubilee hungry! Festival food will be available downtown throughout the festival, including everything from authentic Jamaican or Mexican food to fried fish, pork chops, hamburgers, hot dogs, BBQ, and of course, those famous funnel cakes as well as homemade ice cream, mini pancakes, and more!

After Southland Jubilee, head over to the Oconee Brewing Company to enjoy a comedy show. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online. For more information visit oconeebrewingco.com.

Whether it’s arts-and-crafts, classic cars, heritage demonstrations, church tours, children’s activities, the agricultural exhibit, or your favorite festival foods, attendees will find something to enjoy every year at the award-winning Southland Jubilee.
