The National Day of Prayer is coming to Greene and Putnam Counties with a joint praying event on Thursday, May 2 from 6-7 p.m. at Lakepoint Community Church Worship Center at 106 Village Lane in Eatonton.

This event was started in 1952 and exists to communicate to every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America’s leaders and its families.

The National Day of Prayer has great significance for us as a nation as it enables us to recall and teach how our founding fathers sought the wisdom of God when faced with critical decisions. It stands as a call for us to humbly come before God, seeking His guidance for our leaders and His grace upon us as a people.

The unanimous passage of the bill establishing the National Day of Prayer as an annual event signifies that prayer is as important to our nation today as it was in the beginning.

This is a non-partisan, non-political & non-denominational Christian movement with no purpose other than to pray for the salvation of our country. All are welcome to come and join the seven speakers from each county in prayer to God to solve our problems and continue to bless our wonderful country.

Lakepoint Community Church Worship Center is approximately a 10-minute drive from Publix in Greene County or 13 minutes from City Center Eatonton.
